IELTS Writing Test – General Training
Writing task 1 (a letter)
The system used for rubbish collection in your local area is not working properly, and this is causing problems for residents.
Write a letter to your local council. In your letter:
– Describe the problem with the rubbish collection system
– Explain how this is affecting you and your neighbours
– Suggest what should be done to improve the situation
Write at least 150 words. You do NOT need to write any addresses.
Writing task 2 (an essay)
Some people believe that students should do their homework independently, while others think that parents should help their children with homework.
Discuss both views and give your own opinion.
Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.
